Proton Unlimited is €119.88 a year for one person. Buying Mail Plus and Drive Plus separately costs €95.76 a year, so Unlimited is €24.12 more. For that difference you move from 200 GB to 500 GB and add Calendar, VPN, Pass and Wallet. Skip it if you will not use those.

How the picker chooses

Every candidate is a Proton plan in our committed dataset, in the currency and billing period you selected. A plan fits when it covers at least as many people as you asked for, includes every product you asked for, and bundles at least as much storage as you asked for. The cheapest fitting plan per year wins, and the sentences under it quote the same numbers the dataset holds.

Storage is compared as Proton states it for the whole plan, not divided per person, because Duo and Family pool one allowance across the accounts. Pass Plus and Pass Family count the 10 GB and 50 GB Proton lists for them, which Proton describes as the space for Pass file attachments and says is shared across Pass, Drive and Mail. Where Proton bills less for the first period, as with VPN Plus, the picker compares that first-period price and names the renewal price next to it. Prices are never converted between currencies, and a plan we could not capture a price for is named as not captured rather than estimated. Only single plans are compared here, so stacking two individual subscriptions is left to you.
